I hope you are all safe and healthy at home! I am contacting you today to update you on the the current plans/procedures going forward for band this year. I will be communicating through many different outlets through this time, so please follow all of them if possible to never miss a single thing! These include email, talking points, google classroom, and our new social media sites. (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) - all of which are linked from our band's website. (coreyelrod.wixsite.com/riverbendband)
1) Please have your child sign up for google classroom! They all should have existing google accounts through school already, so all they will have to do is join their grade's google classroom. They can find the code for the google classroom on their grade's page on the band website.Â
2) Please sign up for Smartmusic! Instruction for how to do so can be found on the google classroom site.
3) Please sign up for Essential Elements Interactive! Instruction for how to do so can be found on the google classroom site.
After your child has done the three things above, tell them to play as much as they would like and experiment with Smartmusic and Essential Elements interactive! Many of use band directors have found ourselves practicing a lot more with the addition of those tools since it's so enjoyable to play with electronic accompaniment and learn new music!Â
More details about individual assignments, instructional material, and grading will be released in the coming weeks. Please make sure to check your email and the band website periodically for those updates and make sure to follow us on social media!
